Tony Giovinazzo — President
Tony has more than 25 years of direct involvement in all facets of real estate financing and development, including a senior management position with a large international insurance company overseeing a multi-billion dollar real estate finance portfolio.
Prior to assuming his role as President, he served for seven years as Vice President of Finance at Activa where he forged many strong relationships with investors while supervising the company’s financial, property management and commercial leasing arrangements.
He holds a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics and BA in Economics from McMaster University. He is also an Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) and Mortgage Broker.
A proud member and past president of the Kitchener-Westmount Rotary Club, Tony was awarded a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of his substantial volunteer work and commitment to the well-being of children.
Peter Armbruster — Chief Operating Officer
Peter has more than 20 years of experience in the design and construction of municipal infrastructure, residential developments and commercial projects.
Expanding upon his former role as Vice President of Residential Development at Activa, he now directs all of the company’s neighbourhood, condominium and commercial efforts. He also supervises the development, planning, construction, sales, marketing and customer care teams.
His ongoing commitment to industry leadership includes participating on the Waterloo Region Home Builders’ Association’s Board of Directors, serving as President for the 2007-2008 term and receiving the distinction of Associate Member of the Year in 2011.
Peter holds a BASc in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He is also a Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
Laurie Klassen — Chief Financial Officer
Laurie has more than 16 years of accounting management experience, including her previous roles as both Assistant Controller and Controller at Activa. She also has extensive not-for-profit experience in the fields of child care and education.
She currently guides all of the company’s financial activities in addition to supervising the teams responsible for the day-to-day operations, including human resources, business processes and systems, information technology and property management.
Laurie holds a BMath Co-op Chartered Accountancy Option from the University of Waterloo. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Charter Accountant (CA) and member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
